Okay, so today I wanted to check up on the Michigan State Senate election results for 2024. It’s something I try to keep tabs on, just to see how things are shaping up.

First thing I did was sit down at my desk and wake up my computer. Took a minute or two to load everything up, you know how it is. Once it was ready, I opened up my usual web browser.
Then, I navigated over to my preferred search engine. Typed in something straightforward, probably michigan state senate election results 2024. Just wanted the facts, plain and simple. Hit the search button.
Got back a page full of links, as expected. Lots of news outlets were reporting on it, naturally. I scrolled past those initially, looking for something a bit more official, if possible. Sometimes the news sites are quick, but I like seeing the raw data when I can.
I spotted a link that looked like it belonged to the official Michigan government website, maybe the Secretary of State page or their election division. Decided that was probably my best bet for reliable numbers. So, I clicked on that one.
Navigating the Official Site
The state website loaded up. Had to look around a little bit, these sites aren’t always the most user-friendly. Found a section labeled something like ‘Election Information’ or ‘Election Results’. Clicked into there.

Inside that section, there were options for different elections. I specifically looked for and selected the 2024 election cycle, and then narrowed it down to the State Senate races. Took a click or two to get to the right spot.
Finally got to the page I was looking for. It laid out the results, usually broken down by district.
- Saw the different districts listed.
- Could see the candidates for each seat.
- The vote counts or percentages were there too.
I spent a bit of time just looking through the different districts I was curious about. Scanned the numbers, saw who won in various areas. Didn’t need to dive super deep, just wanted the overview.
Once I felt like I had a good sense of the outcomes, that was pretty much it. Got the information I was after. Closed down the browser tabs and got on with my day. It was a pretty straightforward process, just took a few minutes of searching and clicking.
