Okay, so, I’ve been following the Australian Open, as one does, and Danielle Collins caught my eye. Not just her game, which is, you know, pretty solid, but also her outfit. I was like, “What’s the deal with her gear this year?” So I started digging.

Turns out, it’s a bit of a story. See, back in 2021, she didn’t renew her deal with New Balance, and she even changed her racquet sponsor from Babolat to Tecnifibre. And get this – she went through 2022 and 2023 without any clothing sponsor at all! Can you believe it? Just rocking whatever, I guess.
But this year, it’s different. She’s got a new deal, a one-year thing, with FP Movement. It’s a part of Free People, that brand. Never heard of it before, but the gear looks kinda cool. I did some more searching to see, you know, the gear and other stuff.
- First, I watched some match highlights, because why not, to see her playing in action.
- Then, I read up about her past sponsorships. Found out about the whole New Balance thing and her playing without a sponsor for two years. That’s pretty wild, right?
- Next, I looked into this FP Movement. It’s all activewear and stuff. Seems like a decent fit for her.
She played against Angelique Kerber in the first round. The outfit she had on matched her racket, which is a nice touch. She also had this shiny, like, holographic jacket. It was a whole look.
My Thoughts
Honestly, I think it’s awesome that she’s got a sponsor again. And FP Movement, even though I hadn’t heard of them, they seem to be doing a good job. The outfit looked great on her. But playing two years without a sponsor? That’s some serious dedication to the game. Much respect for that. She’s definitely someone to keep an eye on, both for her tennis skills and her style, I’d say.
It’s always interesting to see how these things play out behind the scenes, right? The whole sponsorship game is a whole other competition of its own.
