Okay, so the other day I was wondering about how Pinehurst, NC fared during the recent hurricane. I mean, I’ve got some buddies who are thinking of maybe retiring down there, and you know, hurricanes are a serious thing to consider.

So, first thing I did was fire up my good old trusty search engine. I just typed in something simple like, “was Pinehurst NC affected by the hurricane”. You know, keep it basic.
My Little Investigation
I started scrolling through the results. It wasn’t super straightforward. A lot of the news was about the coastal areas, which, yeah, makes sense. They get hit the hardest. But Pinehurst is a bit inland, so I had to dig a little deeper.
I refined my search a bit. I added some more specific terms, like the name of the hurricane, and focused on news sources specific to the Pinehurst area. That helped narrow things down.
- Read a few local news articles.
- Checked some weather reports.
- I even went to social media and looked for people in the local area.
After going through all of that, it seemed like Pinehurst was mostly spared from the worst of it. There might have been some wind and rain, maybe some power outages here and there, but it wasn’t like the coastal devastation you see on TV.
Now,I told my friends and my conclusion is that the hurricane is not hit the place at all.
