Disney Sensational Six:Who are they and whats their story?

Okay, so today I messed around with creating something I’m calling the “Disney Sensational Six.” It’s basically Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto. I’ve been wanting to do some fun character art, and these guys seemed like the perfect starting point.

Getting Started

First, I gathered some reference images. I just did a quick search online and found a bunch of classic poses for each character. I wanted that iconic look, you know? Nothing too fancy or modern.

Then, I opened up my drawing program – I’m using that free one, it is pretty basic, but it gets the job done. I started with Mickey, since he’s kind of the leader of the pack. I sketched out some basic shapes – circles for the head and ears, ovals for the body, and so on. It looked really rough at first, just a bunch of overlapping blobs, haha!

Character by Character

  • Mickey Mouse: Once I had the basic shapes, I started refining the lines, adding in his eyes, nose, and that classic smile. I kept going back to my reference images to make sure I got the proportions right.
  • Minnie Mouse: Minnie was next. She’s pretty similar to Mickey, but with eyelashes, a bow, and a skirt. I paid extra attention to her bow, trying to make it look all cute and perky.
  • Donald Duck: Donald was a bit trickier, with his sailor suit and that grumpy expression. I struggled a bit with his beak, but eventually got it to look okay.
  • Daisy Duck: Daisy is like Donald’s counterpart, so I used a lot of the same shapes, but added her signature bow, eyelashes, and a slightly more sassy pose.
  • Goofy: Goofy’s all about those long limbs and that goofy grin. I focused on making him look tall and lanky, with his ears flopping down.
  • Pluto: Last but not least, Pluto! He was the easiest, being a dog and all. I just drew a basic dog shape, added his collar, and made sure his tongue was sticking out.

Cleaning Up

After I had all six characters sketched out, I went back and cleaned up the lines, erased any stray marks, and added some simple colors. I didn’t do any shading or anything fancy, just flat colors to make them recognizable.

Honestly, it took me a good chunk of the day, going back and forth, tweaking things here and there. Drawing isn’t exactly my forte, but I’m pretty happy with how they turned out! They’re not perfect, but they’re definitely recognizable as the Sensational Six. Might try some more detailed versions later, but for now, this was a fun little project.
