Alright, let me tell you about heading over to Shenandoah Harley the other week. Been meaning to swing by for ages, just never got around to it, you know how it is. Finally had a free afternoon, weather wasn’t too bad, so I figured, why not?

Got in the truck – yeah, didn’t ride the bike over, needed to potentially pick up some heavier parts if they had ’em. The drive itself was pretty standard, just your usual traffic. Pulled into their parking lot. First thing you notice, naturally, is all the bikes lined up outside. Always a good sight, gets the blood pumping a bit.
Walking In
Stepped inside. It’s got that dealership smell, you know? Little bit of rubber, polish, maybe some exhaust fumes lingering. Place looked clean, well-lit. Wasn’t overly crowded, which was nice. Gave me space to just browse without feeling rushed.
Started wandering around the showroom floor. They had a good mix of the new models. Spent some time looking over a few of the newer touring bikes. Always curious what changes they make year to year, even if I’m not planning on buying right then and there. Saw a Heritage Classic that reminded me a lot of one I had years back. Good memories with that machine.
The Reason and The Look Around
Main reason I went, though, was to see if they had a specific type of oil filter in stock that my local guy sometimes runs out of. Headed towards the parts counter.
- Checked out the general merchandise area first. Lots of t-shirts, jackets, helmets. The usual stuff you see.
- Looked at some of the accessories displayed on the walls. Grips, pegs, mirrors. Always tempting.
- Spotted their service department entrance, looked busy back there.
Got up to the parts counter. Guy behind the desk seemed knowledgeable enough. Asked him about the filter. He went to check in the back. Took him a couple of minutes. Came back, said they had a few. Success! Grabbed two just to have a spare.

While he was ringing me up, we chatted for a minute about bikes. Just general stuff. Seemed like a decent fellow, not pushy or anything. Paid for the filters and thanked him.
Took one last slow walk around the showroom before leaving. Looked at a couple of used bikes they had tucked away. Nothing really jumped out at me for my own garage, but always interesting to see what people are trading in.
Then I just headed back out to the truck. Mission accomplished, got what I needed. Overall, it was a straightforward visit. The place felt like a solid dealership. Staff was helpful, they had the part I needed. Can’t ask for much more than that, really. Just another day checking out a Harley spot, you know?
