So, I’ve been messing around with this Yamaha DT 125 lately. Yeah, the one everyone seems to know. It’s a motorcycle that Yamaha made, and it’s part of their DT series. I guess it’s pretty popular, I saw some stuff about it being a classic or something.

I got my hands on a 2003 model. It was just sitting there, and I thought, “Why not take it for a spin?” First thing I did was just check it all over, you know, make sure nothing was falling off. Then I started it up and let it run for a bit. It sounded pretty good, no weird noises or anything.
I took it out on the road. I wanted to see how fast this thing could go. I pushed it and I felt the speed increase, not bad! I didn’t have any fancy equipment to measure the speed exactly, but it felt pretty quick. I heard somewhere that it has decent acceleration.
- First Ride: Just cruising around the neighborhood, getting a feel for it.
- Speed Test: Opened it up on a longer stretch of road.
- Handling: Weaved through some turns, felt stable enough.
I rode it around for a few days, just getting to know the bike. Honestly, it’s a fun ride. It’s not the newest or fanciest motorcycle out there, but it’s got a certain charm to it.
I also tried to see how it handled different gears. I shifted up and down, seeing how it responded. It seemed to do pretty well, especially when I needed to slow down quickly from a higher speed, you know?
I even took it on a longer trip, about a quarter of a mile, just to see how it would do. No problems there, it ran smoothly the whole way.

Fuel and Stuff
I haven’t really tracked the fuel usage closely, just filled it up when it needed it. Seems to be doing alright, though I’m sure there are more fuel-efficient bikes out there. But hey, it gets me where I need to go.
Overall, messing with this Yamaha DT 125 was a good time. It’s a solid bike, and I can see why people like it. It’s not going to win any races, but it’s fun to ride and it gets the job done. I’m going to keep riding it, that’s for sure. Might even try to fix up a few things here and there, see if I can make it even better.
