Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with something a bit different – baseball stats. Specifically, I got curious about this player named Everth Cabrera. I’d heard the name before, and I knew he was a pretty good base stealer, but that’s about it. So, I decided to dig in and see what this guy was all about.

First thing I did was just a simple search online. I wanted to get the basics: his full name, birthday, and what teams he played for. Turns out, his full name is Everth Cabrera, born on November 17, 1986, and he played for the San Diego Padres and the Baltimore Orioles. He even led the National League in stolen bases in 2012, which is pretty cool.
Next, I wanted to get a better sense of him as a player. I found some sites that had his height, weight, position, and even his draft status. It’s always interesting to see where a player started and how they progressed through the ranks.
Diving into Everth Cabrera’s Career
After getting the basic info, I moved on to his career stats. I’m a big fan of seeing how a player performed over their entire career, not just in their best seasons. I found out that he played for seven seasons in total, which is a decent chunk of time. His batting average was .246, with 450 hits, 12 home runs, 132 runs batted in, and 228 runs scored. Not too shabby!
- Batting Average: .246
- Hits: 450
- Home Runs: 12
- Runs Batted In: 132
- Runs Scored: 228
- Stolen Bases: 37 in 2012 (ranked 5th in NL)
I also learned that he set some personal bests in 2012. He had career highs in average (.283), hits (108), and home runs (4), and he tied his career high in RBI (31). It’s always cool to see when a player had their peak season. It must feel great to know that you played at your best.
But I didn’t stop at his major league stats. I wanted to know about his early career, too. It turns out he started in the Dominican Summer League with the Rockies before coming to the US. In 2006, he played for the Casper Rockies and hit .254 with 18 stolen bases in 54 games. That’s a lot of stolen bases for a rookie!

Then, in 2007, he kept going up. It’s clear this guy had talent from the beginning, and it’s fun to see how he developed over the years.
Overall, it was a fun little research project. I started knowing just a name and a few basic facts about Everth Cabrera, and I ended up with a pretty good picture of his entire career. It just goes to show that there’s always more to learn about these players than what you see on the surface, that is for sure.
And by the way, I was really impressed by his base-stealing ability. Leading the National League in steals is no small feat. It takes speed, timing, and a whole lot of guts. I might have to watch some old games and see this guy in action!
I have gained a new appreciation for Everth Cabrera. He might not be a household name like some of the all-time greats, but he had a solid career and definitely left his mark on the game. He is a great baseball player, there is no doubt about it.
Well, that’s all for my little baseball adventure today. Maybe I’ll dive into another player’s stats soon. It’s always interesting to see what you can uncover when you start digging! You never know what you might find, which is pretty cool.

Until next time, take it easy!
