Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another adventure. Today, I’m gonna take you all through my journey to the 2024 Maryland State Fair. Yeah, you heard that right, the fair’s back in town!
So, first things first, I had to figure out when this whole thing was going down. A little birdie told me it kicks off on Thursday, August 22nd, and runs till Sunday, September 8th. But it ain’t open every single day, oh no. It’s like a three-part series. Part one is August 22nd to 25th, then it picks back up from August 29th to September 2nd, and the grand finale is September 5th to 8th. Gotta love those long weekends!
Next up, tickets. I’m not about that waiting-in-line life, so I started hunting online. The internet’s full of sites promising the best deals and whatnot. I wanted something easy, something with mobile tickets, ’cause who carries paper anymore? Plus, I’m all about that free cancellation policy, just in case, you know? Life happens.
I also signed up for some email alerts. Gotta stay in the loop, right? I heard there are going to be a bunch of events, and I don’t wanna miss out on the good stuff. Rides, food, concerts – the whole nine yards. I’m here for it.

The Prep Work
Getting there’s half the fun, right? The fairgrounds are at the intersection of York Road and Timonium Road in Timonium. Sounds easy enough. I mapped it out, checked for parking info, the usual. I even looked into the best times to go to avoid the biggest crowds. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons are probably going to be packed, I figured. I made a mental note to consider going on Thursday evenings or weekday mornings instead.
