Okay, so I was super curious about famous people who went to Duke. I mean, Duke’s a pretty big-name school, so there had to be some interesting alumni, right? So I started digging.

My Little Research Journey
First, I fired up Google. Just a simple search, you know, “famous Duke alumni.” The usual suspects popped up immediately, lists and articles all over the place.
I started clicking through some of those lists. Lots of names I recognized, and a bunch I didn’t. I decided to focus on a few that really caught my eye.
- Richard Nixon: Yeah, the former president. That was a bit of a surprise! I knew he was a controversial figure, but still, a US President who went to Duke? Pretty wild. I dug a little deeper and found out he went to Duke Law School.
- Ken Jeong: The actor and comedian! I love him in “Community” and “The Hangover.” Turns out, he actually got his MD at UNC (Duke’s rival!), but he did his undergraduate studies at Duke. So cool!
- Melinda Gates: She’s a huge name in philanthropy and tech. I found out she went to Duke for both her bachelor’s degree and her MBA. That’s some serious Duke dedication!
- Tim Cook: The current CEO of * one make a ton of * guy is running a Massive company, and the Fuqua School of Business at Duke seems to be the perfect learning place for him.
Then I got sidetracked (as usual!). I started looking up some of the athletes who went to Duke. I mean, Duke basketball is legendary! Grant Hill, Zion Williamson (though he didn’t graduate) – the list goes on. It was a fun little rabbit hole to go down.
Finally, I pulled myself back to the main task. I realized I had a pretty good list going, covering politicians, actors, business leaders, and athletes. It just shows you the kind of diverse talent that comes out of that university.
So, that was my little adventure in researching famous Duke people. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon, and I definitely learned something new!
