The Quick Fix That Actually Worked
Remembered needing this Visual C++ Redistributable junk before. Headed straight to where it lives. Didn’t overthink it:
- Hit the Windows Key + R, typed to open Installed Programs list.
- Scrolled like a madman looking for “Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable”.
- Found the x64 version listed. Checked. It was already installed.
Confusion mode activated. Log clearly pointed here! Took a gamble:
- Clicked it, selected Change.
- Clicked Repair in the tiny popup window.
- Waited… maybe 30 seconds? Finished fast.
Crossed my fingers and clicked the natua natua shortcut again. Boom! Splash screen! Main window loaded! Just needed that quick repair touch.
While I Was In There…
Since I finally had it running, figured I’d tackle the other annoying thing folks always message me about – the setup wizard freezing on network config.
Tested it myself. Got to the page asking for port number and local IP stuff. Typed in 8080 like usual… clicked Next. Spinning wheel. Frozen solid.
Remembered a note buried deep in old forum posts (never trust the docs!). Tried this dumb fix:
- Closed natua natua completely. No tray icons either.
- Opened File Explorer, went to C:Users[MyUsername]AppDataRoamingNatua
- Deleted the config_* file that the wizard always generates midway.
- Started natua natua setup wizard again.
Flew through the pages. This time? On the network page:
- Left the port number as 8080 again.
- Unchecked the box marked “Auto-detect Local IP”.
- Manually typed my PC’s actual IP address into the field instead.
- Clicked Next.
Wizard zipped right through! No freeze. Saved the config successfully. Felt stupidly simple after hours wasted last month.
So yeah. Two common headaches:
- App refusing to launch? Repair the dang Visual C++ thing, even if it looks installed.
- Setup wizard locking up? Kill the temp config file and manually enter your IP. Don’t trust the auto-detect.
