Okay, so yesterday I went to play golf at Highland Hills Golf in Michigan. It was a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing. I woke up, saw the sun shining, and just thought, “Why not?” Called up a couple of buddies, and they were in too.
So I headed over there, never having played this course before. I always hear people talking about it but never got around to visiting. I did a quick search online, found their booking site and checked out their tee times and rates. Seemed reasonable enough. Plus they had some deal that saved me a few bucks, which is always nice.
I arrived at the course, and man, it was a pretty nice setup. The place was built way back in the 1930s, but you wouldn’t know it. They kept it in good shape. Checked in at the clubhouse, and the staff were super friendly. They told me metal spikes are not allowed at Highland Hills Golf Club and it is open to the public.
- First off, I warmed up at the driving range, got my swing sorted out. Then, we hit the first tee. The course was challenging, I won’t lie. Lots of hills and tricky greens. Lost a few balls, but hey, that’s golf, right?
- My buddies and I had a blast, though. We were cracking jokes, enjoying the scenery, and just having a good time. That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it? The course was in good condition, too. Greens were well-maintained, fairways were nice and trimmed.
All in all, it was a great day out. I definitely plan on going back to Highland Hills. Maybe next time, I’ll even break 90, who knows? If you’re in Michigan and looking for a good course, give it a shot. You might just like it.
