Alright, so today I wanna talk about something I was messing with the other day – the weight of a Honda Gold Wing. Sounds kinda random, right? But stick with me, it’s got a point.

So, I was helping a buddy move his Gold Wing. Thing is a beast, right? I knew they were heavy, but damn. Got me thinking, “Just how heavy are these things?” So, naturally, I dove down the rabbit hole.
First thing I did was hit up the internet. Started digging around for the dry weight. Kept seeing numbers around 584 pounds (265 kg). Okay, that’s the base weight without any fluids. Still hefty. But what about the real deal, you know, ready to ride?
Then I started looking at the full weight, with all the fluids and everything. Man, those numbers jumped up quick! Saw some figures that were like, seriously pushing 900 pounds! Whoa. No wonder it felt like we were wrestling a rhino when we were moving it.
Here’s where it got interesting.
- Started looking at the weight capacity. Found out that the new Gold Wings only have a weight carrying capacity of about 423 pounds.
- Realized the previous models were much better!
See, my buddy is a big guy, and he usually rides with his wife. So, you gotta figure in the weight of the two of them, plus any gear they’re hauling. Adds up fast. Suddenly, that 423-pound capacity doesn’t seem like much, does it? I mean, they were seriously pushing the limit!

I mean it’s good to know, right? I was genuinely surprised, and it’s something you really should consider if you are looking at buying a Gold Wing. Always good to do your homework and make sure you’re not overloading your bike, especially on a long trip.
Anyway, that was my Gold Wing weight adventure for the day. Hope it was somewhat interesting and as always ride safe!
