Been doing some thinking lately. You know, just sitting with my thoughts. Decided to actually try and pin down some stuff, like finding the good bits even when things felt rough.

So, I grabbed some old photos, a couple of notebooks I barely remembered keeping. Started digging. Honestly, at first, it felt kinda pointless. Just remembering hassle and headaches from way back when.
It took a real effort, you know? Had to consciously shift how I was looking at things. Not just the big picture, but the tiny moments tucked away. Like, okay, that period sucked, but what exactly did I learn from it? Or who actually showed up for me when things got sticky? That kind of searching.
Finding the Shiny Bits
Remember when I had that whole mess with changing directions a few years back? Felt like total chaos at the time. Lost plenty of sleep over it, that’s for sure. But looking back now, really focusing, I managed to pull out some actual golden highlights from that mess.
- Figured out I’m way tougher than I gave myself credit for.
- Definitely learned who my real friends were. That was a big one.
- Ended up stumbling into a situation that, okay, wasn’t perfect, but taught me skills I still use nearly every single day now. Stuff I wouldn’t have learned otherwise.
It wasn’t obvious back then, not even close. Had to really sift through all the muck and confusion to see that little bit of gold shimmer.
It’s not like it’s a one-time fix or anything magical. Feels more like a muscle you gotta keep working. But sitting down and actually doing that? Purposefully looking for those golden highlights instead of just letting the bad memories swirl around? Felt pretty decent afterwards. Cleared my head a bit, you know? Definitely something I’m gonna keep doing when things feel heavy or confusing.
