Okay, here’s my blog post about shipping a motorcycle, based on my personal experience:

Alright, so I recently had to ship my bike across the country. It was a bit of a headache at first, but I figured it out, and I’m here to share what I learned so you don’t have to go through the same stress I did.
First thing I did was get on the phone. I called a bunch of different transport companies. It’s like calling any service I guess,I just asked about their prices, how they do things, and most importantly, if they’re insured. Don’t skip that insurance part! You want to make sure your baby is covered if anything goes wrong.
I prepare my motorcycle before I shiped.
- Cleaned it up:I gave my bike a good wash. I want to check every corner of my motorcycle.
- Checked the fluids: I made sure all the fluids were at a good level.
- Documented everything: I took a bunch of photos of my bike from every angle. This is super important in case there’s any damage during the move, you’ve got proof of what it looked like before.
Choosing the Right Shipping Option
I looked into a few different ways to ship the bike:
- Open Transport: My motorcycle with other vehicles.
- Enclosed Transport: This is where the bike goes inside a closed trailer. It’s more expensive, but it offers way more protection. I went with this because I wanted my motorcycle safe.
- Crated Shipping: If your motorcycle will ship for a long * motorcycle in a custom-built crate.
Then, I got the bike ready. I made sure the gas tank was almost empty (they usually want it less than a quarter full), and I took off any loose accessories that could fall off during the * I double-checked everything.

On the day of the pickup, I met the driver, we did a walk-around together to note any existing scratches or dings, and I signed some paperwork. It felt weird handing over my keys, but I trusted the process (and the insurance!).
I can tracked my bike’s journey. It was kind of exciting, but also nerve-wracking, watching it move across the map.
Finally, delivery day arrived! I met the driver at the new location, we did another walk-around to make sure everything looked good, and I signed off on the delivery. It was such a relief to have my bike back, safe and sound.
So, that’s my motorcycle shipping adventure. It wasn’t too bad in the end. Just do your research, prepare your bike, and choose a reputable company. Ride safe!
