Okay, so I was playing around with Snapchat the other day, trying to make a snap look a bit funnier, you know? Slapped a few stickers on there. Then I realized one of them looked kinda dumb where I put it, and I wanted it gone.

Figuring Out Stickers on a Snap
My first instinct was to just tap and hold the sticker, expecting some kind of menu or an ‘X’ to pop up. But nope, nothing like that happened. Tapping it just selected it again, and holding it didn’t do much either. I tried swiping it off the screen, but that didn’t work, it just moved the sticker around.
I was getting a bit frustrated, thinking, “how hard can this be?” Then, while I was dragging the sticker around kind of randomly, I noticed something. When you drag the sticker towards the bottom or sometimes the side (it seems to pop up when you start moving it), a little trash can icon appears!
So, that was the trick! You just have to:
- Press and hold the sticker you want to delete.
- Keep holding it and drag it over to the trash can icon that shows up.
- Let go of the sticker when it’s over the trash can.
And boom, the sticker disappears. Pretty straightforward once you see that trash can, but it wasn’t obvious to me right away.
What About Custom or Recent Stickers?
Now, that handles stickers you’ve placed on a snap you’re currently editing. But sometimes you might want to clear out stickers from your ‘Recent’ list or maybe delete custom Bitmoji stickers you’ve made. That’s a slightly different process.

For getting rid of stickers in your history or custom ones, I had to poke around in my settings a bit. Usually, it involves going to your profile, then tapping the settings gear icon. Somewhere in there, you might find options related to ‘Memories’, ‘Sticker History’, or ‘Bitmoji’. The exact steps can change because, you know, apps update all the time.
For example, with Bitmoji stickers, you often manage those through the Bitmoji settings themselves, which you can usually access through Snapchat’s main settings. For stickers you’ve made from cutting things out of snaps, I think you manage those in your sticker drawer; sometimes pressing and holding on one in the drawer gives you a delete option.
So, yeah. Deleting a sticker you just placed is just dragging it to the trash. Cleaning up your sticker history or custom ones takes a little dive into the settings menus. Took me a few tries, but got it sorted out eventually. Hope this helps anyone else wondering the same thing!
