Then the guy who called himself the “project lead” would swoop in and give you a third version that contradicted both of them. It was wild.
I remember this one time, I was trying to get this payment gateway integrated. Simple enough, right? The documentation they gave me was two years out of date. The test server was down more often than it was up. And the one guy who supposedly knew anything about it? He was on a “silent retreat” for two weeks, no phone, no email. Seriously. We were just stuck.
It felt like we were all wearing the team colors, but nobody knew what game we were playing or what the rules were. Just a lot of running around, bumping into walls, and looking busy.
I stuck it out for about eight months, then I just couldn’t anymore. Walked in one Monday, handed in my notice. I heard later the whole project kind of fizzled out. No big surprise there, honestly.
