Okay, so today I wanted to talk about the LA Dodgers and their World Series appearances. I’ve been digging into this for a while, and I gotta say, it’s a pretty interesting topic.

First off, I started by looking up how many times the Dodgers have actually been to the World Series. Turns out, it’s a whopping 22 times! Can you believe that? They’ve been around for a long time, and they’ve definitely made their mark on baseball history. I found out that they started out in Brooklyn, and they made it to the World Series nine times there. Then, they moved to Los Angeles, and they’ve been to the World Series 13 times since then. That’s a lot of baseball!
Next, I went down a rabbit hole looking into their wins. They won the World Series as recently as 2020. It was that weird, shortened season because of COVID, but a win is a win, right? They had a 43-17 record, which is pretty darn good if you ask me.
Then I got curious about who they’ve played against the most in the World Series. And guess what? It’s the New York Yankees. They’ve faced off against the Yankees a total of 11 times! Seven times when they were still in Brooklyn, and four times after they moved to LA. It’s a pretty intense rivalry, and unfortunately for Dodgers fans, the Yankees have the upper hand, winning eight out of those 11 matchups.
I also noticed something cool about their wins. There have been five times when the Dodgers won at least three games in a row during the World Series. That’s some serious dominance!
- They won it all in 2020, during that crazy COVID-shortened season.
- They’ve played the Yankees 11 times in the World Series.
- They’ve had five separate occasions where they won three or more games in a row during the World Series.
- The Yankees have the most World Series titles, with 27 wins. The Dodgers have played them often, and it’s a big rivalry.
Some interesting tidbits I found:
I also had a look at the New York Yankees. They’ve won the World Series a crazy 27 times, all the way back to 1923. Man, those guys have been good for a long time! They have won in 1923, ’27, ’28, ’32, ’36, ’37, ’38, ’39, ’41, ’43, ’47, ’49, ’50, ’51, ’52, ’53, ’56, ’58, ’61, ’62, ’77, ’78, ’96, ’98, ’99, 2000, and 2009.

The last thing I stumbled upon was the Dodgers opening the 2024 season as favorites and actually winning it all after beating the Yankees in five games. What a prediction, huh?
Anyway, that’s my deep dive into the LA Dodgers and their World Series history. It’s been a fun ride, and I hope you all learned something new today. Let me know what you think in the comments!
