I started playing “Coral Island” the other day, and let me tell you, it’s a whole vibe. Farming, making friends with the locals, the whole nine yards. But I really wanted to get into the tree-growing side of things, so I’ve been diving deep into the world of saplings.

First off, I had to get my town rank up to C. That took a bit of doing. Turns out, diving is a pretty speedy way to boost that rank. Donating every fish and bug I could find helped a bunch, too. Once I hit rank C, I rushed over to Sam’s General Store. That’s where they sell a variety of saplings. I grabbed a few different types to experiment with.
Then came the planting. Now, I’m no expert farmer, but I did pick up a few tricks. I found this awesome crop guide online that showed the last possible planting days for crops. It’s all about maximizing profits, you know? And speaking of maximizing, I learned that planting crops in a five-by-three patch is the way to go when you’re watering them. Stand right in the center, and you can reach all of them. Super efficient! I did the same with my saplings, although they weren’t considered “crops”.
Besides that, I’ve been learning about wild trees. Turns out, chopping them down on your farm or in the wild gets you foraging experience. And there are different types too: maple, oak, pine, and mahogany. I haven’t seen any mahogany trees yet. Only wild trees count toward your experience, though. I’ve been planting my saplings, but those don’t seem to contribute to foraging.
Honestly, figuring out the whole sapling thing has been a bit of a journey, but it’s been fun. I’ve got my little orchard going now, and it’s pretty satisfying to see those trees grow. Plus, it is kind of cool to know I’m getting better at the foraging aspect of the game. I’m still learning, though. There are some farming mastery skills that can speed up growth, and also something called Flash fertilizer. I haven’t messed around with those yet, but they’re on my to-do list.
- Step 1: Got my town rank up to C by diving and donating.
- Step 2: Bought different saplings at Sam’s General Store.
- Step 3: Planted them, trying to be efficient with my space.
- Step 4: Learned about wild trees and foraging experience.
- Step 5: Started an orchard and continued to explore growth options.
It’s not exactly rocket science, but it’s been a good time. If you’re playing “Coral Island” and have any tips on growing trees or anything else, let me know! I’m always down to learn something new.
