Okay, so today I decided to mess around with this “Tom Adrounie Golf” thing. I’d heard some buzz, seen some videos, and figured, “Why not?” I’m always up for trying something new, especially if it involves smacking a ball around.

Getting Started
First things first, I needed to figure out what I was even dealing with. I did some quick searching, watched a few clips, and basically got the general idea. It seemed pretty straightforward – you’ve got your clubs, your ball, and a course. So, I rounded up my old clubs from the garage. They were dusty, but hey, they’d do the job.
The Practice Swings
Before hitting any actual balls, I took some practice swings in my backyard. Man, I felt rusty! My form was all over the place. I almost took out a garden gnome a couple of times. It was clear I needed to loosen up and get a feel for the clubs again.
- Swing 1: Whiffed it completely.
- Swing 2: Topped the ball, it dribbled like two feet.
- Swing 3: Okay, that was a little better, but still felt awkward.
- Swing 4: Finally, a decent connection! Felt that satisfying thwack.
Hitting the (Imaginary) Course
Since I wasn’t about to head to a real golf course just yet, I improvised. I set up some makeshift “holes” in my yard using buckets and flowerpots. Don’t judge. It’s all about creativity, right?
I started with a few short “putts,” trying to get the ball into the buckets. It was harder than it looked! My aim was off, and I kept overshooting or undershooting. But, slowly, I started getting the hang of it. I even managed to sink a couple of “putts” from a decent distance.
Then, I moved on to some longer shots, aiming for the flowerpots. This was where things got really interesting. I shanked a few, sent a couple flying way off course, and generally made a mess of things. But, I also had a few moments of glory where I actually hit the ball pretty well. Progress!

Wrap it up
I realized that golf it is not as easy as those people made it out to be, so after practicing some more, I cleaned up the clubs, put back everything where I got it from, and called it a day, maybe I would try again another day, or maybe not, who knows?
