Okay, so, I’ve been trying to find a decent parking spot in Pittsburgh for ages, right? Today, I decided to tackle the “Red Lot 6” situation. Let me tell you, it was a bit of an adventure.

First off, I did a little digging online, as you do. I heard that street parking is free after 6 pm, which is cool if you’re getting into town late. But, I needed something earlier, and I didn’t want to drive around forever looking for a spot. Some people swear by the Red Lot, saying it’s a good deal, price-wise, and you get in and out quickly. Plus, they say there are plenty of shuttles to get you where you need to go.
So, I headed over to 200 West General Robinson Street, where Red Lot 6 is. It’s near Acrisure Stadium, which is easy to spot. When I got there, I saw that you could reserve a spot online through some app, but I didn’t bother with that this time. I just wanted to see what the fuss was about.
I pulled in, and honestly, it wasn’t too bad. There were plenty of spots, and the lot was pretty well-organized. It wasn’t super cheap, but it definitely wasn’t the most expensive option either. I heard there are other lots at the airport – Blue, Green, Red – that might be cheaper for long-term parking. But for a few hours, Red Lot 6 seemed like a good bet. I think, I took more than one hour there.
- Driving to the lot: Found the location easily.
- Entering the lot: No hassle, plenty of spaces.
- Parking: Parked my car without any issues.
- Shuttle Service: I didn’t use the shuttle this time.
- Leaving: Paid and left, everything was smooth.
I didn’t end up using the shuttle, as my event was within walking distance. But, from what I saw, they were running pretty regularly. I even chatted with a couple of drivers who were super friendly. They confirmed that Red Lot gets a lot of shuttle service, which is good to know for next time. I love walking, and enjoy the lively atmosphere in Pittsburgh, so I just walked to my event place.
Overall, I’d say Red Lot 6 is a solid choice for parking in Pittsburgh. It’s not the cheapest, but it’s convenient, and you’re not circling the block for hours. I might try those airport lots for a longer stay, but for a quick trip, Red Lot 6 did the job just fine. Next time, I will try to reserve a spot online to see if it makes any difference. Maybe, I will share it next time!
