Kept finding either fake junk or crazy prices like $300. Felt like I was chasing ghosts!

Almost gave up when my cousin mentions this old sports consignment shop near the laundromat. Place looked sketchy – dusty windows, flickering sign. Went inside anyways.
Started rifling through piles of used sneakers behind the counter. Smelled like mothballs and bubblegum! Then bam – spot a faded blue-black colorway in my size shoved under some Shaqs. Pulled it out and there it was: the cracked wing logo on the heel.
Scoring The Deal
Checked the condition first. Minor creasing, outsole still grippy, just needed serious cleaning. No box but who cares? Asked the owner how much – dude squints at them then goes “Twenty bucks?” My heart skipped! Paid cash fast before he changed his mind.
Best part? Got compliments at the court last weekend. Some teenager even asked if they were rare – told him yeah, rare bargain bin treasure! What started as desperate search turned into my favorite garage-sale-win story.
