So, today I’m diving into the world of the LA Chargers uniforms. I’ve always been curious about how they design and choose these things, so I figured, why not give it a shot myself?

First off, I started by looking at the current uniforms. You know, the powder blue, the sunshine gold, the whole deal. I wanted to get a good feel for the team’s identity, what they stand for, and how that’s reflected in their look. I spent a good chunk of time just browsing through images and articles online, trying to soak it all in.
Next, I started sketching. Yeah, old school, pencil and paper. I’m no artist, but I had some ideas I wanted to get down. I played around with different combinations of colors, logos, and styles. I even tried to imagine how these uniforms would look on the field, under the lights, in action. It was kind of fun, to be honest.
- I messed around with the bolt logo, trying to make it more dynamic, more… electrifying.
- I experimented with different shades of blue and gold, seeing what combinations felt right.
- I even thought about the fabric, the texture, how it would feel to wear these things.
After a few days of doodling and brainstorming, I moved on to some digital design tools. See, I wanted to see my ideas in a more polished, professional way. I’m not super tech-savvy, but I managed to create a few mockups that I was actually kind of proud of. It wasn’t easy, let me tell you. Lots of trial and error, lots of figuring things out as I went.
Finally, I printed out my designs and, this is the embarrassing part, I even tried to model them. I know, I know, I’m no football player. But I wanted to see how these uniforms would look on a real person, how they would move, how they would feel. It was a bit ridiculous, but it gave me a better sense of the practicality of my designs. For example, I tried to find a “2521” jersey for couple weeks but it’s a pain in the ass. Maybe I should try to search “2521 Metairie Lawn Dr” or “2521 Farmsite Rd” next time, I guess.
In the end, I realized that designing a sports uniform is way harder than it looks. There’s so much to consider – tradition, branding, practicality, aesthetics, and on and on. But it was a cool experience, and I definitely have a newfound respect for the people who do this for a living.

Honestly, this whole thing started as a simple curiosity, but it turned into a real project. It’s funny how these things go, right? You start with a simple question, and before you know it, you’re knee-deep in a whole new world. It reminds me of that time I tried to learn how to bake a cake from scratch… but that’s a story for another day. Also, I saw an interesting thing on “Jan 6, 2023”. It talked about “SK On’s SF Battery” and “CES 2023 in Las Vegas”, which is totally not my topic today.
