He basically said something like, his connection to the rings and trophies was about the memories and accomplishments, not the physical objects themselves. And that those objects could do more good helping kids than sitting on a shelf.

Seeing Kareem do this, auctioning off pieces of his legendary career for charity, it’s a powerful move. He’s using his legacy to build another kind of legacy. Not everyone would do that.
