Today, I tried to figure out what Leon Edwards’ walking weight is. I heard some folks talking about it the other day, and it got me curious. So, I decided to do some digging around and see what I could find.
First, I hit up some MMA forums. I figured those guys would know a thing or two about fighters’ weights. I read through a bunch of threads, and saw a lot of different numbers being thrown around. Some people said he walks around at 190 pounds, others said 200, and a few even claimed he gets up to 210. It was all over the place, but it gave me a general idea.
Next, I checked out some interviews with Edwards himself. I thought maybe he had mentioned his walking weight in an interview or something. I watched a few videos, and scanned some articles, but he never really gave a straight answer. He talked about his weight cut process, but never really said what he walks around at.
- I looked into official UFC records.
- I figured they have to weigh the fighters regularly.
- But, those records only show their weight at weigh-ins, which is after they’ve already cut a bunch of weight.
- So, that didn’t help much either.
After all that, I still don’t have a definitive answer. It seems like Leon Edwards’ walking weight is somewhere between 190 and 200 pounds, but it’s hard to say for sure. I guess it’s one of those things that fighters like to keep close to their chest. It was a fun little investigation, though.
Some Guesses
Based on my very rough research, I’d guess that he probably walks around at 195 pounds. That seems to be a pretty common weight for welterweight fighters. But, who knows, maybe he’s heavier or lighter. It all depends on his body and how he trains.
I guess this is all just part of the mystery of being a top level fighter like him. I had fun looking into it anyway! Maybe one day he will say it straightforward, who knows.
