Hey everyone, I gotta tell you about something I’ve been messing around with lately – Lewis Hamilton’s podium finishes. It’s been a wild ride digging into this stuff, and I’m stoked to share what I’ve found.

So, I started by going way back. I mean, all the way back to when Hamilton was just a kid tearing it up in go-karts. He had this old, beat-up kart – number 44, which he still uses today. That was the number plate on his dad’s car, so it was always special to him. Even back then, you could see he had something special. I dug through old articles and interviews to get a sense of those early days.
Then I moved on to his Formula 1 career. Man, this guy’s a legend! I focused on his podium finishes, and let me tell you, there are a lot of them. I started with his first season in 2007 with McLaren. Can you believe he got top-three finishes in his first nine races? Nine! I was going through race results one by one, making a list, and it just kept growing.
I made this massive spreadsheet, you wouldn’t believe it. Each row was a race, and I noted the date, the track, and where he finished. Then I started tallying them up. I remember hitting the 69th podium, which was when he beat Michael Schumacher’s record for pole positions at Monza in 2017. I just kept adding, and adding, and adding.
Here’s where it gets crazy. As of right now, the end of the 2021 season, Lewis Hamilton has over 202 podium finishes. 202! And with his recent podium in Las Vegas, he’s got at least one in every single season he’s raced. I literally double-checked that, going through each season and making sure I didn’t miss any.
- First Season (2007): Top 3 in his first 9 races.
- Record Breaker: Over 68 poles, beating Schumacher’s record at Monza in 2017.
- Total Podiums: 202 (and counting!).
- Every Season: At least one podium finish every year since 2007.
And this is how I ended up with the number 202. Also, I found someone online saying he has 8 world championships, but I think that’s wrong. He has 7, right? One time he only had to defend for one lap and couldn’t do it. Let’s be real, folks, it’s 7.

This whole thing has been a blast. It’s amazing to see how much one person can achieve with hard work and dedication. Lewis Hamilton is a true inspiration, and I’m pumped to see what he does next.
It’s wild to think about how all those years of hard work added up to this incredible number. It just goes to show, every little bit counts. And who knows, maybe there’s some kid out there right now, racing around in a beat-up old go-kart, who’s gonna be the next Lewis Hamilton. Pretty cool, right?
