You know, I’ve been a Lions fan for as long as I can remember. It’s been a rough ride, to be honest. We’ve had our ups and downs, mostly downs, but hey, that’s what makes the wins even sweeter, right?

So, I started digging into their playoff history. First, I grabbed a pen and my old notebook – yeah, I’m old school like that. I wanted to see how many times they’ve actually made it to the playoffs. Turns out, they’ve been in the playoffs a grand total of 19 times. Not bad, but not great either. I jotted that down, feeling a mix of pride and, well, a bit of disappointment. We’re talking about 95 seasons here, people! 19 playoff appearances in 95 seasons, it makes me think about all those “almost” moments.
Then, I thought, “Okay, let’s get specific. What about the wins?” I started listing down each playoff win I could find, and wrote next to each one the year and the opponent. My handwriting is terrible, by the way. Like, seriously, a doctor would be impressed. Anyway, after a lot of searching and scribbling, I counted 9 wins. 9 wins in those 19 appearances.
I leaned back in my chair, looking at my messy notes. I also tried to check the schedule for this season and the results so far, just in case. I mean, it’s good to be informed about these things. I couldn’t find much, so I just wrote down “check later.”
I have to admit, seeing those numbers written down, it kinda hurt. But then I remembered some of those wins. Man, those were some good times. We celebrated like crazy, remember? Like that time in 1991, when we beat the Cowboys. That was epic!
Here’s a little breakdown of what I scribbled in my notebook:

- Total Playoff Appearances: 19
- Total Playoff Wins: 9
- Last time missed the playoffs: 2022
- This season’s schedule and result: Check later
So, there you have it. My little deep dive into the Lions’ playoff history. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, but there are some bright spots. And hey, at least we’re not the Browns, right? Sorry, Browns fans, no offense! I’m just trying to cope with my situation, you know what I mean?
Anyway, I’m still hopeful. Maybe this is our year. Who knows? That’s the beauty of being a sports fan, isn’t it? The hope, the anticipation, the occasional heartbreak, and the rare but oh-so-sweet taste of victory. Go Lions!
