Okay, so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with the Merrimack vs. VCU game. I’d heard some chatter online, and, well, I’m a sucker for a good college basketball matchup. So, I decided to dive in and watch it myself.

First, I grabbed my laptop and pulled up the game. I think I found it…somewhere. Don’t ask. Let just say it’s easy to watch. I’m usually fumbling around trying to find a decent stream, but this time it was pretty smooth sailing.
Then, I settled in. Got my snacks (essential, obviously), a comfy blanket, and hit play. Right from the tip-off, you could feel the energy. These teams were not messing around.
The Game Itself
- Merrimack, I noticed, they were really hustling. Lots of quick passes, trying to find openings. They seemed to be favoring the outside shot.
- VCU, on the other hand, was playing a much more physical game. Driving to the basket, drawing fouls. They definitely had a size advantage, and they were using it.
The first half was a real back-and-forth. Lead changes, some impressive shots, a couple of questionable calls from the refs (of course!). I was scribbling down notes like a madman, trying to keep track of who was doing what.
Halftime, I took a quick break to, you know, refresh my snacks. And maybe check Twitter to see what other people were saying about the game. Everyone seemed just as hyped as I was.
The Second half got even more itense. It went to Overtime!

Merrimack made a great effort. VCU, they were tough, they were resillient, and at the last minute of the over time, they won!
It all came down to one final shot, with a score of 71-57. It was insane!
After the game, I spent some time looking at the stats. You know, points, rebounds, assists – all that good stuff. It’s always interesting to see how the numbers match up with what you actually saw on the court.
I learned a lot that night, at the end of the game I think it was a great match. Go Rams!
