Okay, so I’ve been meaning to dive into the history of 70s Mustangs for a while now. It’s a kinda weird, but also kinda cool, period for the car. So, here’s how I went about it, and what I found.

Getting Started
First, I figured I needed a plan. Just randomly Googling stuff wasn’t gonna cut it. I wanted to get a good feel for the different models, the changes over the years, and, you know, the whole vibe of the ’70s Mustang scene.
- I started by looking for some general overviews. Just basic stuff to get my bearings.
- Then I decided to break it down year by year. Seemed like the easiest way to keep things straight.
- I also wanted to find some good pictures, and maybe even some old ads. That stuff is always fun.
Digging In
I spent a good few hours just reading. Man, there’s a lot of info out there! I found some forums dedicated to classic Mustangs, and those were a goldmine. Real people, talking about their cars, sharing stories – it’s way better than just reading some dry article.
I learned that the early ’70s still had some of the muscle car feel, with the Boss 351 and the Mach 1. But then the Mustang II came along, and things got…smaller. It was a response to the oil crisis and changing tastes, I guess. Not everyone loved it, but it was a big deal at the time.
I was amazed, that there is a great difference in different models in 70s.
Putting It Together
After all that reading, I started to organize my notes. I made a timeline of the different models and their key features. I also saved a bunch of pictures – some cool promotional shots, and some that people had taken of their own cars.

It was actually pretty fun, like putting together a puzzle. And now I feel like I have a much better understanding of the ’70s Mustang. It’s not just one thing – it’s a whole range of cars, each with its own story.
Now I can say I finished my research and organized all thing, that I want.
