Okay, so about that jjk ch 248. Man, that chapter really did a number on me when I first went through it. I remember finishing it, putting my phone down, and just kinda staring blankly at the wall for a good five minutes. No joke. My brain just felt like scrambled eggs trying to piece together what exactly went down, especially with Yuji’s sudden power-up, or whatever that was, and Sukuna just tanking it like it was Tuesday.
So, what did I do? Well, my first instinct, my actual “practice” if you wanna call it that, was to immediately go back. I re-read the whole darn thing. Slowly this time. Like, word by word, panel by panel. I figured maybe I missed a tiny detail, some hint that made it all click. Nope. Still felt like I was trying to understand quantum physics after half a beer.
Then I started pacing. My living room isn’t huge, but I must’ve worn a track in the carpet. I was muttering to myself, going over the dialogue. “Okay, so Sukuna said this, but then Yuji did that… how does that even make sense with what Kenjaku planned?” It was a mess. I even pulled out an old notebook, one I usually use for grocery lists, and started trying to draw a flowchart. Yeah, a flowchart for a manga chapter. Don’t judge. My practice involved:
- Re-reading the chapter at least three times.
- Talking out loud to an empty room.
- Attempting to diagram the power scaling and plot twists. That was a disaster.
- Checking if my cat understood it better than me. He didn’t. Just wanted food.
It reminded me of this one time years ago, I got super into building a complex model ship. Instructions were in a language I barely knew. I spent weeks, man, just staring at diagrams, trying parts, taking them apart, getting frustrated. My wife found me one night, surrounded by tiny wooden pieces, just looking completely defeated. This jjk chapter brought back that same feeling. That feeling of, “I should be getting this, but I’m just not.”
So, after all that fuss, what happened?
Well, I didn’t magically unlock the secrets of the universe or Gege Akutami’s mind, that’s for sure. My notebook page looks like a lunatic’s manifesto. But, going through that whole ritual, that obsessive little deep dive, it kinda helped. It’s like I had to wrestle with it, get all my confusion out in the open, even if it was just to myself and the cat. I still think that whole sequence with Yuji and Sukuna has some bits that are just plain bonkers, maybe even a plot hole, who knows. But my “practice” of trying to dissect it, even if I failed, made me feel… more connected to it? Like I’d earned my confusion, haha. And it definitely made me even more desperate for ch 249. So, yeah, that was my adventure with jjk ch 248. A real head-scratcher, that one. My process isn’t pretty, but it’s how I ended up tackling it.
