Need to Know Whats Super Effective Against Laceys Slowbro?

Okay, so I’ve been playing a lot of Pokemon Violet lately, and Lacey’s Slowbro in the Indigo Disk DLC? Total pain. Seriously, it kept wiping my team. So, I decided to figure out how to beat this thing, once and for all. I’m not a pro or anything, just a regular player who likes to share my experience.

First, I tried my usual team. You know, the ones I’d been cruising through the rest of the game with. Big mistake. Slowbro’s Amnesia just made it super bulky, and then it would Calm Mind up and wreck me with Stored Power or Surf. I’d be lucky to even get a hit in. Super frustrating!

My Failed Attempts

  • Attempt 1: My starter, Meowscarada, did okay damage, but got one-shot by a boosted move.
  • Attempt 2: I thought a strong Electric-type would do the trick. Nope. Slowbro’s too tanky.
  • Attempt 3: Even tried a status move like Toxic. Slowbro just laughed it off.

So, back to the drawing board. I started looking at Slowbro’s weaknesses. It’s a Water/Psychic type, so that means it’s weak to Bug, Ghost, Grass, Electric, and Dark. Okay, good start.

Then I remembered a few key things. Slowbro is slow. Like, really slow. And its Special Defense is way higher than its Defense, especially after it uses Amnesia. That got me thinking… Physical attackers! We need something that hits hard on the physical side and can either outspeed it or take a hit.

The Winning Strategy (Finally!)

I decided to go with a Kingambit. It’s a Dark/Steel type, which is perfect. It resists Slowbro’s Psychic moves, and its Supreme Overlord ability will be buff as my Pokemons have already been fainted by Slowbro. I also made sure it had a good Attack stat and the Kowtow Cleave move. That’s a strong Dark-type physical attack.

I changed my Kingambit’s tera type to * make Kingambit hit even harder!

Here’s how the battle went down:

  1. I use my fainted Pokemons to buff Kingambit’s Supreme Overlord ability.
  2. I sent out Kingambit.
  3. I used tera Dark on the first turn.
  4. I used Kowtow Cleave. One-hit KO!

It was so satisfying! Finally, that Slowbro was down. I learned that sometimes you just need to go back to basics, check the type matchups, and maybe try a Pokemon you wouldn’t normally use. Don’t be afraid to experiment! Hope this helps anyone else struggling with Lacey’s Slowbro!
