Hey everyone, so today I wanted to talk about something that probably every Warframe player has struggled with at some point: getting Nitain Extract. Man, that stuff can be a real pain to farm! I spent a good chunk of my weekend trying to get my hands on some, and I figured I’d share what worked (and what definitely didn’t work) for me.
First off, let’s talk about the basics. I knew Nitain Extract drops from Alerts and Ghoul Purge bounties on the Plains of Eidolon. I’ve also heard murmurs about it being a super rare drop from containers, but honestly, who has the time for that? I needed a guaranteed, or at least somewhat reliable, method.
My Initial Plan: Alerts!
So, my first thought was to camp out the Warframe app and just wait for Nitain Alerts to pop up. This is how I used to do it back in the day. I had the app notifications set up, and whenever a Nitain Alert came up, I’d jump on my PC ASAP. The problem is… Nitain Alerts are really inconsistent nowadays. I waited… and waited… and waited… It felt like hours between them sometimes, and when they did pop up, they were often at the most inconvenient times. Like, when I was making dinner. Or, you know, sleeping. I managed to snag like, two Nitain Extracts this way. Not exactly efficient.
- Pro: Relatively easy if you can catch them.
- Con: Super unreliable, depends entirely on RNG. Ruined dinner.
The Ghoul Purge Grind
Okay, Alerts weren’t cutting it. I decided to switch gears and try the Ghoul Purge bounties on the Plains of Eidolon. I knew the higher-level bounties had a chance to drop Nitain. So, I grabbed my trusty Rhino (because who doesn’t love Iron Skin?), geared up with a decent weapon loadout, and headed to Cetus.
Step 1: Bounty Time!
I talked to Konzu and took the highest-level Ghoul Purge bounty that was available. The first couple of stages weren’t too bad. Lots of Ghouls to smash, easy peasy. But then came the part where you have to find the Ghoul caches. Man, those things are annoying. I spent so much time running around the Plains, trying to find those stupid caches. I mean, come on! I used my loot radar mods but even then its wasn’t working great.
Step 2: Rinse and Repeat
After finishing the bounty (and getting… nothing useful from the final stage), I went back to Cetus, grabbed another bounty, and did it all over again. And again. And again. Seriously, I think I ran that Ghoul Purge bounty like five or six times. I got some resources, a few mods I already had, and… still no Nitain Extract. Frustrating!
The (Slightly) Better Outcome: The Realization
Eventually, I did get one Nitain Extract from a Ghoul Purge bounty reward. Just one. After hours of grinding. Was it worth it? Probably not. But, I did learn something important: the Ghoul Purge bounties can drop Nitain, but the drop rate feels pretty low. It’s definitely a gamble.
- Pro: Can potentially get other useful resources and mods while farming.
- Con: Time-consuming, Ghoul caches are annoying to find, low Nitain drop rate.
The Lesson Learned (and My Current Strategy)
Okay, so what’s the takeaway from all this? Well, here’s what I’ve learned: Nitain Extract farming is a pain no matter what. There’s no easy way to get it. However, I’ve found a strategy that seems to be slightly less painful:
1. Alerts when you can: Keep an eye on the Warframe app and snag those Nitain Alerts when they pop up, especially if they’re at a convenient time.
2. Occasional Ghoul Purges: Run a Ghoul Purge bounty or two when you’re bored, but don’t expect to get a ton of Nitain. Consider it a bonus if you actually get one.
3. Nightwave: Keep an eye on Nightwave challenges. Sometimes, Nightwave offers Nitain Extract as a reward, which can be a lifesaver.
Basically, it’s about being opportunistic and not relying too heavily on any one method. It’s a slow grind, but eventually, you’ll get the Nitain you need. Good luck, Tenno!
