Okay, so today I wanted to catch Palkia in Pokemon Go. I’ve been seeing it in raids lately, and I really wanted to add it to my collection. I’ve been playing for, I dunno, years, and I love those shiny Legendaries. Let’s get to it!
Getting Ready
First thing I did, I checked the raid schedule. Made sure I knew when Palkia was gonna be appearing most often. I’ve got a bunch of friends who play, and it’s always easier to take down a big raid boss with a group, you know?
I’m going to put together my team, need some strong attackers.
- Checked my Pokemon: Looked through my Pokemon for my strongest Dragon and Fairy-types. Palkia is a Water/Dragon-type, so those are super effective.
- Powered Up: I used some Stardust and Candies to power up my best attackers. Gotta get those CP numbers up!
- Charged TMs:Made sure my Pokemon had the best moves. Used a few Charged TMs to get the right attacks.
The Raid Battle
Alright, raid time! Found a Palkia raid at a nearby gym. A bunch of us showed up, thankfully, I think it was 8 or 9 of us. That was nice to have a good group.
- Joined the Raid:Used my Remote Raid Pass to join. So easy.
- Chose my team:I lead with my top dragon, a pretty strong Dragonite.
- Battled!: We all just started hammering away at Palkia. Tapped like crazy, dodged when I saw the big attacks coming. Gotta keep an eye on that health bar!
Success!
We took it down! Teamwork makes the dream work. I don’t use any special strategy or anything complicated, just get a good team and tap away!
Now, the moment of truth, the catch screen. Golden Razz Berries are my best friend here. Gotta boost those catch odds.
- Golden Razz: First thing, I tossed a Golden Razz Berry.
- Curveball: I always try for curveballs, I’ve heard they increase your catch chance too.
- Excellent Throw: I’m not great, but I tried to get an Excellent throw… Didn’t quite get it. Got a “Great” throw, though!
I held my breath… one shake, two shakes, three shakes… Caught it! YES! It wasn’t a shiny, unfortunately, but still, a Palkia is a Palkia. I’m pretty stoked about it. I immediately checked its stats and it wasn’t too bad. It was a 3 star and pretty good IV. I’m happy I added it to my Pokedex.
