Okay, so I saw this thing online about making a “pencil bat,” and I thought, “Why not? Sounds kinda fun.” So, I decided to give it a shot and document how it went.
Gathering Stuff
First things first, I needed to get my materials together. I grabbed:
- A bunch of pencils – Just regular, unsharpened ones. I figured like, a dozen would be good to start.
- Strong tape – I used duct tape, because that stuff sticks to anything.
- A handle – I just ripped the handle off an old, broken broom. Seemed about the right size.
Putting it Together
I started by lining up the pencils around the broom handle. I wanted the pointy ends to all be on the same side, you know, for the “bat” part. I put them pretty close together, all around the handle.
Then came the taping. Oh boy, the taping. I wrapped duct tape around and around, starting at the base where the pencils met the handle. I went up and down, making sure to cover all the pencils really well. It was kinda messy, but I just kept wrapping until it felt solid.
I did a few extra layers of tape around the base, just to make sure it wouldn’t fall apart when I swung it. It looked pretty good at this point. a silly pencils tools.
The Finished… Thing
So, there it was, my pencil bat. It was a little heavier than I expected, and definitely looked kinda ridiculous. I took a few practice swings, and it felt surprisingly sturdy! But all pencils droped from the *’s a faild work.

Honestly, I don’t know what I’ll actually do with this thing. Maybe I’ll just hang it on the wall as a conversation starter. Or maybe I’ll take it outside and whack some… uh… weeds. Yeah, weeds. That’s what I’ll *, I made it for fun, maybe I should add some super glue next time. What a interesting day!
