Okay, so I got this idea stuck in my head: figuring out how many points Steph Curry will have when he finally retires. It seemed like a fun little project, so I dove in.

Getting the Data
First things first, I needed Curry’s current stats. So, I went and found a website that had all his regular season points. Easy peasy.
Figuring Out the Seasons
Next, I needed to guess how many more seasons he’ll play. I figured, maybe, 5 more years? He’s still playing great, but Father Time is undefeated, you know?
Points Per Season Estimate
Now for the tricky part – how many points will he average per season for those remaining years? His average has been going up and down so I have to make a guess.
- Year 1:I think his average is gonna drop but I think 2000 is reasonable.
- Year 2:Maybe it will drop down some more to 1800.
- Year 3:By now, a further drop. So let’s guess 1500.
- Year 4:I’m gonna guess 1100.
- Year 5:I think 800 for his last season.
The Math!
Alright, time for some simple math! I add the current total points to my guesses for total points for the next 5 years.
My Guess (It’s Just a Guess!)
So, plugging in all those numbers, my super-rough, totally-just-for-fun estimate is that Steph Curry will end up with some bigger number than he has now.

It could be way off, of course! He could play longer, score more, score less… it’s all just a guessing game. But hey, it was a fun way to spend an hour!
