Hey everyone, today I wanted to dig into something that’s always fascinated me – the most goals scored in a single Premier League match. I mean, who doesn’t love a goal-fest, right? So, I rolled up my sleeves and started my little research project.

My Research Journey
First, I fired up my trusty search engine. I just typed in “most goals scored in a Premier League match” and started sifting through the results. I wanted to get a feel for the top contenders, you know?
Then, I decided to compile my findings.
I started by looking for the matches with the highest total number of goals.
The top matches I found are:
- Portsmouth vs. Reading (7-4) – September 29, 2007: Wow, 11 goals! A real rollercoaster of a game.
- Tottenham vs. Reading (6-4) – December 29, 2007: Another Reading game with 10 goals, and a bit of a pattern.
- Arsenal vs. Newcastle (7-3) – December 29, 2012: Another game with 10 goals. A crazy match.
Compiling the Data
I’ve compiled the data into a simple list, just for my personal *’s pretty cool to see all these high-scoring games in one place.

What I Learned
It’s amazing to see how many goals can be scored in just 90 minutes of football. It really highlights the attacking prowess and sometimes, the defensive…uh…challenges in the Premier League.
This little deep dive was super fun! It reminded me of some incredible matches and got me thinking about all the factors that can lead to such high-scoring games. Hope you guys found this as interesting as I did!
