Rebel 250 CMX250C Specs and Features: Everything You Need to Know (Get the Lowdown on This Popular Cruiser Bike)

Okay, so, let’s talk about this Honda Rebel 250 (CMX250C) I messed around with. I’ve always been curious about motorcycles, but I’m no expert, you know? Just a regular dude who likes to tinker. The other day, I got my hands on this Rebel 250, and let me tell you, it was an experience.

First off, I did some digging online because I knew nothing about this bike. Turns out, it’s also known as the CMX250, or even the “Honda Peronist” – I don’t know what’s about the name but it is interesting. And I read somewhere that “Not a Honda Rebel rider” says you need a big-bore machine to appreciate the joys of motorcycling, I kinda like this a lot.

I found out there are different versions. The one I had was an older model, I think it came out in 2016 or something. It had a 5-speed gearbox and a 234cc engine. Some of the newer ones have a 6-speed gearbox and a slightly bigger 249.5cc engine. But hey, they are all just 250.

The first thing I did was just walk around the bike, checking it out. It’s not a huge bike, which is great for beginners or folks like me who aren’t looking for a speed demon. I tried to lift it a bit, you know, to see how heavy it was. I read online that it is about 320 pounds. It felt manageable, not like it was going to crush me if it tipped over, haha.

Then, I tried to start it up. Turned the key, hit the starter, and it fired up pretty easily. The engine sounded decent, not too loud, not too quiet. Kinda purred like a kitten, a big one. I let it warm up for a bit while I looked up some more info on my phone. Apparently, this thing can do about 70 miles per hour at its top speed, and it takes around 12 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. Not exactly a race bike, but it seemed peppy enough.

Riding Experience

Now, the fun part – taking it for a spin! I hopped on, put it in gear, and slowly let out the clutch. It moved forward smoothly, no jerking or anything. I rode it around the neighborhood for a while, getting a feel for the controls. The clutch was pretty forgiving, the brakes worked well, and it handled nicely. I even took it on a main road with some traffic, it’s all good.

Here’s what I really liked:

  • It’s not intimidating. The size and power are perfect for learning or just cruising around.
  • It’s comfortable. The seat was decent, and the riding position didn’t make me feel cramped.
  • It’s simple. No fancy electronics or complicated stuff to figure out.

Here’s what I wasn’t too crazy about:

  • It’s not a powerhouse. Don’t expect to win any drag races.
  • It’s basic. No extra features or bells and whistles.

Overall, I had a blast messing around with the Rebel 250. It’s a solid little bike that’s fun to ride and easy to handle. If you’re thinking about getting into motorcycles or just want a simple, reliable cruiser, this one’s definitely worth checking out. Just don’t expect it to be something it’s not. It’s a Rebel 250, and it’s proud of it!
