Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this whole “Roman Reigns Big Dog” thing for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride. I stumbled upon this wrestler named Leati Joseph “Joe” Anoaʻi, who goes by the ring name Roman Reigns. He’s not exactly small, you know, a pretty huge guy, but it turns out he celebrated his 35th birthday last May 25th.
I started digging into this Roman Reigns character, trying to figure out what the deal was. Apparently, after he came back from battling leukemia, he started going by “The Big Dog.” I think it was around 2018 when they started really pushing this Big Dog persona. I was just browsing forums you know, and I saw dates like, 2015, 2014 and all that, so maybe I am wrong.
I spent hours watching videos, reading articles, the whole nine yards. I found out he’s one of those wrestlers you either love or hate – totally polarizing, like John Cena, another wrestler I recognized. Some folks even say he’s the least popular member of this group called The Shield. Can you believe that?
- Dived deep into online forums and articles. I mean, I was on these wrestling sites for hours, just soaking it all in.
- Watched a ton of his matches. I wanted to see this “Big Dog” in action, and boy, was it something. This dude is intense!
- Tried to understand the whole “Big Dog” vs. “Tribal Chief” thing. It seems like they’re two sides of the same coin. One’s the good guy, pushed by the higher-ups, and the other’s… well, something else.
Here’s what I did:
From what I gathered, “The Big Dog” was like the company’s big project, they were really trying to make him the top guy. But then there’s this “Tribal Chief” persona, which seems way more raw and, I don’t know, authentic? It’s like they took everything people loved and hated about him and just cranked it up to the max. I read stuff like, how did a guy like Undertaker hang Big Bossman, or that Bret Hart guy saying nice things about Ultimate Warrior, all this stuff was wild. Even saw some posts about some wrestling title reigns. Man, people are into some weird stuff.
It’s been a weird, kinda fascinating journey. I went in knowing nothing about wrestling, and now I’m here, rambling about Roman Reigns and his different personas. I still don’t get all the wrestling stuff, but it’s definitely been an experience. I am not even sure if what I’m saying is correct, but I had fun reading and watching all of this, I may be a new fan.
