Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with that “Ross Sutherland” thing. I’d heard some buzz about it, seen a few mentions online, and I figured, why not give it a shot? I’m always up for trying something new, especially if it might be a bit… out there.

First, I had to do a little digging. What even is Ross Sutherland? Turns out, he’s a poet and performer, known for his experimental stuff. So, I started by, well, trying to find some of his work. I ended up listening to a few poems and watching some videos.
Getting My Hands Dirty
My main goal was to experiment with his style. So, I started by jotting down some phrases that stuck out to me from his work, the kind of stuff that made me go, “Huh, that’s interesting.”
- Repetitive phrases.
- Mix of personal and pop culture.
- Some dark themes.
I started to use those phrases and played with them. For example, if there was a phrase “The world is blue,” I started to repeat it, and made some changes to it.
The world is blue
The world is blue?

The world was blue
Then I tried to bring my personal feelings into the poem, and wrote some simple words under each of them. That was interesting.
Putting It All Together
The tricky part was taking those random bits and trying to weave them into something that felt… coherent-ish. I wasn’t aiming for perfection, just trying to capture that same feeling of controlled chaos that I got from Sutherland’s work. I played around with line breaks, repetition, and just generally tried to let things flow naturally.
It was a bit messy, a bit weird, but hey, that’s kind of the point, right? I ended up with something that definitely felt different from my usual writing style. It was a fun experiment, and it definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone a bit.
So, that was my day messing with Ross Sutherland’s style. Would I do it again? Maybe. It’s definitely not something I’d do every day, but it was a cool way to shake things up and try a different approach to writing. I might give it another shot.
