Okay, so today I wanna talk about dealing with busted guns in Stalker 2. Man, that game throws everything at ya, including weapons that are practically falling apart.

First thing’s first: Don’t just ditch ’em right away! My initial instinct was to grab the shiny new AK and toss the clunker, but hold on a sec. There are a few things you can do.
- Check the condition: Obvious, right? But seriously, open up your inventory and take a good look. If it’s, like, 80% or higher, it’s probably worth holding onto.
- Scavenge for parts: This is where things get interesting. I found out that you can actually strip parts off of totally wrecked guns to repair your main weapon. Think of it as organ donation for firearms, haha.
Here’s how I did it:
- Found a REALLY messed up shotgun – like, 10% condition. Thing was practically held together by rust.
- Went into the inventory screen and selected the wrecked shotgun. There should be an option like “Disassemble” or “Strip Parts.” Click that.
- The game then shows you a breakdown of the gun and the parts you can salvage. Usually, it’s stuff like the receiver, barrel, or stock.
- Selected the parts I needed for my main shotgun, which was in decent condition but needed a little TLC.
- Used those salvaged parts to repair my main shotgun at a workbench. Boom! Back in business.
Important stuff I learned:
- Not all parts are created equal: Some parts are more valuable than others. Try to prioritize parts that are heavily worn on your main weapon.
- Workbenches are your friend: You can’t just slap parts on in the middle of a firefight. Gotta find a workbench to do the actual repairs. Look for them in safe zones and mechanic shops.
- Carry a repair kit: These are super handy for making minor repairs on the go. They don’t replace workbenches, but they can keep your gun from jamming at the worst possible moment.
Why bother?
Well, early on in the game, resources are scarce. Buying new guns or ammo is expensive. Plus, it’s just satisfying to keep your favorite weapon running. Gives you a sense of attachment, you know?

One last tip: Don’t get too attached to ANY gun. They all break down eventually. Just learn the repair system, scavenge what you can, and keep moving. That’s the Stalker way, right?
Hope this helps you guys out there in the Zone! Good hunting!
