Alright, let’s talk about surf trips. It’s something I’ve been getting into, and man, it’s a whole process. But a fun one!

First off, I had to pick where to go. This was a biggie. I’m not exactly a pro, so I needed somewhere that wouldn’t throw me right into the deep end. You gotta think about what kind of waves you’re after, how good you are, and even what time of year it is.
- I spent some time looking into different spots. Places like Bali, Hawaii, and Costa Rica kept popping up. They seem to be popular for a reason. And Nicaragua, that place sounds cool too!
So, I started looking into what the waves were like at different times of the year. You don’t wanna show up and find out it’s flat as a pancake, right? Or worse, that it’s packed with people. Timing is everything. I figured it was best to avoid the super crowded times and also make sure there’d actually be some waves to ride.
After all that research, I finally picked a spot. I’m not gonna say where just yet, gotta keep some secrets! But let me tell you, it felt good to have that part of the planning locked in.
Then, I started thinking about gear. I don’t have my own board yet, so I had to figure out if I was gonna rent one there or what. Plus, there’s all the other stuff – wetsuit, leash, wax. It all adds up. Ended up finding a decent rental place near where I’m staying, so that’s one less thing to worry about.
Next up, flights and a place to stay. That was another adventure in itself. Trying to find a good deal without spending a fortune is always a challenge. But hey, who doesn’t love a good bargain hunt? I managed to snag some decent prices, so I’m pretty stoked about that.

Now, I’m just counting down the days. Got my boardshorts packed, sunscreen ready, and I’m brushing up on my (very limited) surf lingo. I’m going in with zero expectations, just hoping to catch a few waves, maybe not wipe out too much, and have a blast.
Wish me luck!
I’ll definitely let you all know how it goes. Maybe I’ll even have some epic surf stories to share. Or maybe I’ll just have a collection of wipeout videos. Either way, it’s gonna be an experience!
