Okay, here’s my story about checking out the 2024 U.S. Senior Open field.

So, I’ve been following golf for a while now, and the U.S. Senior Open is always something I look forward to. This year, I was really curious about who made the cut. I mean, these guys are legends, right? So I started digging into it.
First, I went straight to the official sources to see what’s up. They have all the formal stuff, you know, the list of players and their backgrounds. It’s cool, but it’s also kind of, well, dry. I wanted to get a better feel for the whole thing.
A Lot of Entries
- I found out that they got 3,019 entries this year.
- Apparently, that’s the third-highest number ever!
- The record was set way back in 2002, so this is a pretty big deal.
Then, I started looking around on golf forums and fan sites. I wanted to see what other people were saying about the players and who they were excited to see. It’s always interesting to get different perspectives, you know? People were hyped about the usual big names, but there were also some under-the-radar picks that got me curious. It’s always fun to learn a little bit about some of the people who are going to participate in.
After that, I spent some time just looking at the list of players and trying to remember some of their past performances. I’m not going to lie, my memory isn’t perfect, but I could recall some of their big moments. It got me thinking about how much golf history is represented in this one event. It’s kind of mind-blowing when you think about it.
I also tried to find some interviews or articles about the players. I wanted to know what they were thinking going into the tournament. Some of them were talking about the challenge of the course, while others were just excited to be competing again. It’s always cool to hear from the players themselves.

In the end, I didn’t become an expert or anything, but I definitely got a better sense of the 2024 U.S. Senior Open field. It’s a mix of familiar faces and some new ones, and it’s clear that everyone is bringing their A-game. I’m really looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. It’s going to be a great tournament, for sure!
I did all of that stuff in one afternoon. I started around 2 p.m. and was finished around 5 p.m., just in time for dinner. The house was quiet, the kids were napping, so I really had no distractions. It was a really productive day. Hope you enjoyed my sharing.
