Okay, so today I wanted to do something fun – I decided to mess around with creating a mascot for the Tigers. I’ve always thought mascots are pretty cool, and I figured, why not try making one myself? It sounded like a fun little project.

First off, I started by sketching some ideas. I grabbed a pencil and paper and just started doodling. I knew I wanted something that looked like a tiger, obviously, but also something that was friendly and approachable. Not too fierce, you know? I went through a bunch of rough sketches, erasing and redrawing, trying to get the look right. It was a bit of a mess, honestly, but that’s part of the fun.
After I had a sketch I kinda liked, I decided to move it to my computer. I took a picture of the sketch and opened it up in a drawing program. I’m not a pro at digital art or anything, but I know the basics. I started tracing over my sketch, cleaning up the lines and making it look a bit more polished. This part took a while because I kept changing things, experimenting with different shapes and styles.
- Drawing the head: I started with the head, trying to get that classic tiger look. Lots of stripes, big eyes, and a friendly smile.
- Adding the body: Then I moved on to the body. I wanted to make it look like it was wearing a jersey, so I drew a simple shirt with the team’s number on it.
- Paws and tail: I added some big, cartoony paws and a long, striped tail. Making the tail look right was surprisingly tricky!
Once I had the basic shape down, it was time to add some color. I went with the classic orange and black for the tiger, and then used the team colors for the jersey and other details. I played around with different shades and hues, trying to find something that looked good together. Coloring is always my favorite part; it’s when the drawing really starts to come to life.
After I was happy with the colors, I added some finishing touches. I put in a baseball cap, some sneakers, and gave him a baseball bat to hold. This made it feel more like a sports mascot, which was the goal. I spent a good amount of time tweaking and adjusting, trying to get everything just right.
The Final Result
Finally, after hours of work, I had my Tigers mascot! It wasn’t perfect, but I was pretty proud of it. It was a fun little project, and it was cool to see my idea come to life from a simple sketch to a fully colored character. It definitely made me appreciate the work that goes into designing mascots and other characters. Maybe I’ll try making more in the future, who knows?
