Hey guys, it’s your boy back at it again with another BG3 discovery. Today, we’re diving deep into the Underdark to find the elusive Tongue of Madness. Yeah, that funky-looking mushroom that’s got everyone talking. Let me tell you, it wasn’t a walk in the park, but I got you covered.
So, first things first, I fired up the game and headed straight to the Underdark. This place is massive, and it’s easy to get lost. I started at the Underdark Beach waypoint. From there, I looked east and spotted some rope netting. Climbed that bad boy, no problem. Then, I followed the wooden path heading southeast. It’s a bit of a trek, but you’ll eventually reach an incline that leads up to another section.
Now, here’s a tricky part—there’s a gap you need to jump across. I made sure to save my game here because, trust me, you don’t want to fall. One wrong move and it’s back to the beginning. I lined up my jump and made it across with a bit of luck.
Reached Arcane Tower
Once I got that jump out of the way, I was in the clear. I headed straight to the Arcane Tower, which is in the southwest part of the Underdark. This is where things got interesting. I heard about this Omeluum guy who needed help with a parasite investigation quest. Turns out, he’s looking for Timmask Spores and the Tongue of Madness. This place is full of them. I grabbed a whole bunch of them.
I explored the tower, found some cool loot, and gathered three pieces of Tongue of Madness. You need three to create a Sublimate of Tongue of Madness. This is important if you wanna make that Tadpole Elixir. Who knew, right? This long, slender mushroom that looks like a giant tongue not only helps with this elixir but also boosts your wisdom.
Why is wisdom important? Well, my dudes, it gives you a bonus to a bunch of checks like animal handling, insight, medicine, perception, and survival. Plus, it improves your wisdom saves. And if you’re a cleric, ranger, or druid, it boosts your cantrip and spell potency. That’s a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
Talked to Blurg
After exploring the tower, I bumped into Blurg. He mentioned that this cleric named Lenore, who serves Mystra, might have these items too. Lenore’s tower is also in the southwest, so if you’re in the area, it might be worth checking out.
