Okay, here’s my experience checking out UFC Gym Canal Street, told in a casual, personal blog style:
So, I’ve been meaning to shake up my workout routine, and I’ve always been curious about those UFC Gyms. I mean, who hasn’t fantasized about being a ripped fighter, even just a little bit? I decided to finally check out the one on Canal Street.
First thing I did was look it up. Just wanted to get a feel for the place, see some pictures, and check the hours. Figured it’d be all hardcore, you know? Metal everywhere, maybe some motivational yelling… the whole deal.
Then I walked in. The place is Big and wide. Seriously, it’s way bigger than I thought it would be. There are a ton of equipment areas, and a really good-sized MMA training section, too. I was kind of surprised by the vibe, I thought It would be the kind of vibe to see the hardcore MMA fans. I was pretty wrong about it, though.
Next, I took a tour. I went and talked to a guy there, and he was super chill. No pressure, just showed me around. They’ve got everything: weights, cardio machines, a boxing ring (obviously!), and even a big octagon. I gotta admit, stepping into that octagon felt pretty cool, even if I was just imagining myself in a fight.
After the tour, I tried out a class. I went to their boxing training class. They’ve got all sorts of classes, from straight-up boxing and kickboxing to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and some fitness-focused stuff. I’m not gonna lie, the class was tough! But in a good way. The instructor was awesome – really focused on technique and making sure everyone was pushing themselves, but not overdoing it.
- Pros:
- Tons of equipment.
- Great variety of classes.
- Instructors who know their stuff.
- That awesome octagon!
I went to that Gym for just one day. I thought that place can be good. Anyway, going into that UFC Gym Canal Street definitely was worth it. I think I got my exercise fix for the day.
