Okay, so I’ve been hearing a lot about this “Valspar Purse 2024” thing, and I finally decided to see what all the fuss was about. It’s some kind of golf tournament, I think? Anyway, I figured, why not give it a shot? I’m not a huge golf person, but I like checking out new events.
First things first, I looked up when and where this thing was happening. Turns out, it’s at the Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida. I booked a flight and a hotel near the place – not too close, though, I don’t want to be in the middle of all the madness.
Got to Florida, and the weather was nice, way better than back home. I headed over to the resort, and man, it was packed! Lots of people milling around, golf carts zipping everywhere. I grabbed a schedule and a map – definitely needed that, this place is huge.
- Wandered around the course for a bit, trying to get the lay of the land.
- Watched some of the practice rounds, which was pretty cool. These guys are good!
- Checked out the food situation, because, you know, priorities. They had some decent options, but nothing to write home about.
- I even tried to get a couple of famous golfer’s autographs for my son, but no luck.
The actual tournament days were pretty intense. I followed a few different groups around, trying to catch the big names in action. It was fun to see how different players handled the pressure and how the crowd reacted to every shot.
Honestly, the whole thing was a bit overwhelming. By the last day, I was pretty exhausted. I watched the final round from a spot near the 18th green, and it was exciting to see who came out on top. After that I went to a small bar near the hotel and watched the champion interview.

All in all, it was a pretty cool experience. Would I do it again? Maybe. It’s definitely something to see at least once if you’re into golf or just want to check out a big event. Just be prepared for crowds and lots of walking!
