So, the other day I was looking into getting a new ride, and the Versys 1100 caught my eye. I mean, I’ve heard of the Versys 650, seems like a popular choice for beginners and all, but the 1100, that’s a whole other beast, right?
First thing I did was hit up some forums, you know, just to see what the word on the street was. There was this one thread comparing the Versys 1000 LT SE to the BMW R1250 RT, which got me thinking. Those are two pretty different bikes, but it made me wonder if the Versys 1100 would be worth it. Then I stumbled upon another post where someone was asking if the Versys was too much to handle after coming from a smaller bike. This guy said it’s about double the horsepower, so you gotta ease into it. Makes sense.
Anyway, I kept digging. From what I gathered, people who bought the Versys really seem to dig it. They say it’s comfy, fun to ride, and packed with features. That’s a good sign, I thought.
I even checked out the official Kawasaki site to see what they had on the 2025 model. Apparently, in Europe, they’ve got the base, S, and SE versions, and the 1100 is following that lineup. Cool, cool.
The Ride
- Took it out for a spin and man, that engine is smooth. It’s got this strong mid-range that just pulls and pulls. It’s an inline-four, so you kinda expect it to be a bit more on the high-strung side, but it was just smooth sailing.
Tech Stuff
- This thing is loaded, I tell ya. Electronic suspension, cruise control, cornering lights, you name it. It felt like riding a spaceship or something, haha. I definitely want this.
Practical Stuff
- I’m thinking long-term here, and the Versys seems like it’ll hold up. Plus, with the bigger engine, I won’t be itching for an upgrade anytime soon.
- Look, it is a big and heavy. The seat height is 33.3 inches, and it is about 454 lbs with all the fluids.
Final Thoughts
So, after all that, am I getting one? Well, I’m still mulling it over, but it’s definitely on my shortlist. This bike is gonna launch in March 2025, and the price may be around $10,000 to $12,000. It’s a big purchase, so I gotta be sure, but the Versys 1100 is looking pretty darn good right now. If you’re in the market for a sport-tourer, you might wanna check it out too.
