Okay, so today I decided to dig up some old memories and create a highlight reel of Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady, you know, back when they were both playing for the Raptors. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while, and today just felt like the right day.
First, I gathered all the video footage I could find. I spent hours, seriously, hours, scouring the internet for old game clips, interviews, and anything else that featured those two together. I had some stuff saved on old hard drives, but mostly I was hunting online. It was a bit of a treasure hunt, really.
Once I had a good chunk of video, I started to organize it. I wanted to show their chemistry, you know? So, I looked for clips where they were clearly working together, high-fiving, assisting each other, that sort of thing. I also wanted to showcase their individual skills, so I grabbed some of Vince’s insane dunks and T-Mac’s smooth scoring moves.
- Finding the Right Clips: This was the most time-consuming part. I was looking for specific moments, not just general highlights.
- Organizing by Theme: I grouped clips into categories like “teamwork,” “dunks,” “scoring,” and “defense.”
- Dealing with Low Quality:Some of the older footage was pretty rough. I did my best to clean it up, but some of it was just… well, you know, old.
Next, I started editing. I’m no professional editor, but I know my way around some basic video editing software. I trimmed clips, added some transitions, and even threw in some background music (nothing too fancy, just some classic hip-hop beats that felt right for the era).
The editing process was a bit tedious, to be honest. Lots of cutting, splicing, and re-watching the same clips over and over. But it was also really fun, seeing it all come together. I felt a real connection to the stuff that they have done.
My Editing Workflow
I kind to be keep to simple:
- Import all footage.
- Cut, Trim and arrange clips on timeline.
- Add some basic transitions (mostly crossfades).
- Add some background music, and get the audio levels.
Finally, I watched the finished product. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with it. It brought back some great memories, and I think it captures the excitement of that era of Raptors basketball. I might even share it online, see if other fans enjoy it too.
