Alright so today I thought it’d be fun to figure out who folks consider the best F1 driver ever. Seen so many debates online, right? Tired of just shouting into the void, I decided to actually make a proper poll myself. Here’s exactly how that went down.

Getting Things Started
First, I grabbed my laptop around coffee time yesterday morning. Opened up a simple poll builder tool – nothing fancy needed. Titled it “Who’s the REAL G.O.A.T. of F1 Racing?” Made sure to add all the big names everyone argues about: Schumacher, Senna, Hamilton, Prost, Fangio, Verstappen. Threw in Kimi for fun too, why not?
Set it up as single-choice only – gotta force people to pick just one favorite. Added little driver photos next to each name to make it look nicer. Almost spilled my coffee reaching for the mouse. Close call.
Sharing the Madness
Posted that bad boy everywhere:
- My usual racing forums (you know the ones)
- Three different F1 fan groups
- My Twitter with #F1debate
- Even texted the link to my cousin Dave who thinks Verstappen walks on water
Hit “post” and leaned back like “alright, let the chaos begin.”
Watching the Fireworks
Checked back after lunch. Holy tire smoke. Already 200+ votes and the comments… man.

Hamilton and Schumacher were neck-and-neck the whole time. Senna pulling a solid third. Fangio voters were mostly old-timers typing in ALL CAPS about “kids these days.” Saw one guy write “Prost?! Seriously?!” and then three paragraphs about 1989. Classic.
Dave texted me “MAX OR NOTHING” in all caps. Told him to chill.
The Big Mistake
Around dinner, I thought “hey, let’s see live results!” Big error. The poll page kept freezing whenever traffic spiked. Refreshed like ten times watching Hamilton pull ahead by three votes… then Schumi catching up… then poof – white screen of death. Just spinning. My spaghetti got cold staring at that loading icon.
Panic Mode
Tried restarting the browser. Nothing. Checked the poll website status page – yup, tiny red “outage” flag. Fantastic. Paced my living room chewing cold noodles while strangers online demanded results. One dude DM’d “FIX IT OR I SWEAR TO GOD SENNA WAS ROBBED.” Pressure’s on, I guess.
“Final” Results (Kinda)
Site finally came back around midnight. Drumroll… Hamilton won by 12 votes. Twelve. Out of like 800 total. Schumi fans immediately cried foul in the comments. Some guy from Brazil posted a 1994 Senna tribute video. My notifications exploded. Cousin Dave sent a frowny face emoji.
Lesson learned? Running F1 polls is like managing a pit crew during a monsoon. Looks easy till everything catches fire. Also: never check live results during peak rage hours. And maybe don’t eat spaghetti near the keyboard – cold noodles suck.
