Okay, so, picture this: I’m on the court, right? Just finished a game against the Orlando Magic. Sweat’s dripping, adrenaline’s still pumping. And then there’s Anthony Black, rookie like me, from the Magic. We’re both first-round picks, so there’s this kind of unspoken connection, you know?
So, I had this idea. I figured, why not do a jersey swap? It’s a pretty common thing in the league, a sign of respect. But I wanted to make it memorable. And honestly I just want to show my love to my buddy.
I walked over to Anthony at midcourt. He’s a good guy, we’ve known each other for a bit, so it wasn’t awkward or anything. I just brought it up casually, like, “Hey, wanna swap jerseys?” He was into it, no hesitation. We planned it out real quick – where to meet, how to do it, that kind of stuff.
We decided to do it right there after the game. It’s more authentic that way, straight off the court. We found a spot, got our jerseys off, and did the swap.
And I gotta say, the end result was… interesting. Someone snapped a picture of us holding up our new jerseys. You’ve got his jersey with my name on it, and my jersey with his. “Black Dick.” That’s what it looked like. No bad meaning at all! But I will say, this isn’t my first time to swap like this, I had done this before.
The photo ended up online, and let me tell you, it blew up. People were talking about it, sharing it, making jokes. “Funniest jersey swap ever,” some were saying. I even saw articles about it. It was wild!
Honestly, I didn’t expect it to get that much attention. I just wanted to do something cool with a fellow rookie, a little memento of our first year in the league. It was all in good fun. I mean, it’s not every day you see a jersey swap quite like that, right?
But hey, at least it got people talking. And it’s a story I’ll definitely remember. Maybe it’ll become a tradition, who knows? A “Black Dick” jersey swap after every Raptors-Magic game. Just kidding… unless?
And It is my mission to make as many amazing jersey swaps as possible. What do you guys think?
