So, the other day I got this idea. I wanted to find some good Seattle Mariners images. Not just any random pictures, you know? I needed something specific, maybe for a little project I was thinking about, or just to have some cool pics.
First thing I did, obviously, was just hop onto my computer and punch “Seattle Mariners images” into a search engine. Easy peasy, right? Well, sort of. I got tons of pictures, yeah, but most were kinda… meh. You know, the usual stuff, lots of current players, but nothing really grabbed me. Or the quality was just plain bad, all pixelated.
Okay, plan B. I started getting more specific. Tried searching for specific players. I remember typing in “Ken Griffey Jr. swing” or “Edgar Martinez double”. That helped a bit. Found some classics, but still, sometimes you’d find the perfect shot, and it’d have a huge watermark plastered right across it. Super annoying.
Then I thought, maybe the official team site? Went there, poked around their photo galleries. They had some decent stuff, mostly recent games. Good quality, which was nice. But finding older pictures, like from the 90s? That was tougher. They don’t always keep huge archives easily accessible, I guess.
Digging a Little Deeper
I spent a good chunk of time just clicking through different sites. Fan forums sometimes have hidden gems, pictures people took themselves at games. But again, quality can be all over the place. And you gotta be careful about using someone else’s picture, right?
I even tried searching specific game dates or events. Like “Mariners ALDS 1995”. That sometimes brought up newspaper photos or articles with pictures. Some were pretty cool, gave that old-school vibe. But often they were small, like newspaper-sized small, not great for what I wanted.
Here’s what I ran into mostly:
- Lots of low-resolution images.
- Big watermarks making pictures unusable.
- Finding the exact moment or player I pictured in my head was hard.
- Many sites just had the same popular photos recycled.
Eventually, after a lot of clicking and searching, I managed to gather a few decent ones. Not exactly everything I dreamed of, but good enough to work with. Had to compromise a bit on a couple of them. It wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be, just grabbing a few Mariners pics. Took more digging than expected.
So yeah, that was my little adventure trying to find some Mariners images. Just takes a bit of patience, trying different search terms, and looking in a few different spots. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you gotta settle.
